Celebrating national frozen food month

This March we want to celebrate all those college students, single people, workaholics and busy families who have so often needed and enjoyed the flavor and convenience of frozen veggies for lunch, frozen fruit for breakfast and the microwave dinner! The National Frozen and Refrigerated Food Association, Inc. (NFRA) has declared March the National Frozen Food Month in honor of food culture and industry throughout time.

A Little History
Did you know the first freezer was built in the 1920s by Clarence Birdseye in an effort to keep food fresher, longer? After his ingenious invention, Birdseye capitalized on his discovery by creating the first frozen food service offered to the public in the 1930s. This radically changed the eating habits, cooking culture and food production in the United States and continues to be an economical and time efficient industry nearly a century later.

Food practices have changed, expanded, faded in and faded out, some for the better and some for the worse. Days of cooking in pure lard have thankfully lessened and plates laden in fried meats and cream gravies have become childhood memories. We now live in an age of gluten allergies, genetically modified produce, sugar filled, artificial flavors and a fight for our health.

Frozen Food and Health
Thanks to Clarence Birdseye and the NFRA we now have the ability to buy foods that don't come dried up in a bag. We can choose whole foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals that haven't been modified to sit in transit for a week or stay fresh in a store. Frozen foods actually retain most of their raw nutrient value because they are picked at perfect ripeness and flash frozen immediately. Then it's just a matter of reading the label. What other ingredients or preservatives were added to your frozen vegetable lasagna?

Thanks to Veestro we now have the ability to buy foods that enrich our bodies and give us peace of mind. We can feed ourselves and our family with only the highest quality, all natural ingredients. It only takes a moment to read the non-GMO, 100% plant based ingredient label. With the ability to freeze foods at their highest health value and ship them directly to your kitchen, Veestro can help you make health a priority.

With a variety of meals to choose from, Veestro's selection will not leave you lacking in taste. To make health even simpler, there are two easy weight loss meal plans already created to get your body to its strongest and leanest form. In honor of Frozen Food Month and in preparation of the upcoming summer, we want to help you celebrate food and health. Simply click, deliver and heat.
