Summer is here, and with hotter temperatures comes more time spent outside enjoying the weather. From going to the beach to spending time in the garden, being in the hotter weather also means an increased need for hydration.

We’re sharing five ways to stay hydrated, even in the heat of the summer, that doesn’t only involve drinking plain old water all day.

#1 Sip on Coconut Water

Coconut water is one of nature’s most delicious and refreshing electrolyte replacing beverages! Many athletes rely on it to help replenish lost electrolytes during exercise. It also makes a great thirst-quencher and a refreshing way to stay hydrated this summer.

You can sip on coconut water plain or even use it in your favorite smoothie recipes. Just be sure to stick to unsweetened varieties!

 

#2 Add Freshly Squeezed Fruit to Your Water

Getting tired of drinking plain old water all day? Sometimes all we need is a flavor boost to encourage us to keep hydrated. Try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice to your bottle of water for an added flavor boost.

Feeling fancy? Make a pitcher of cucumber and mint water and enjoy throughout the day.

 

#3 Make Homemade Iced Tea

Store-bought iced tea often contains added sugar, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy this summertime favorite! Try making your own by brewing black tea, letting it cool, and then serve over ice with some freshly squeezed lemon juice and a drizzle of pure maple syrup.
