What successful people eat for lunch

It's safe to say that success in any area requires passion, determination, and good ol' hard work. For today's heavy hitters, it may also require a pantry full of fresh produce. When the midday slump hits and you need to fight off fantasies of driving home for a nap, eat these foods to refocus and recharge. It would seem like entrepreneurs and celebrities never sleep. With such busy schedules, they've mastered the art of eating for energy. According to the body's circadian rhythm (natural sleep/wake cycle), the average person feels the strongest desire to sleep between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m, as well as between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. This makes lunchtime imperative for powering the rest of the day.

So what are they eating?

According to People, Oprah Winfrey eats a soup and a salad every day. Her favorite is tomato soup with Tuscan kale and apple salad.

Michelle Obama loves veggie pizza on whole wheat crust.Anderson Cooper rotates between baked potatoes, oatmeal raisin bars, and veggie burgers.

Kim Kardashian West also adds sweet potatoes and vegetables to her plate.

Madonna eats sea vegetables. If you're going to make one change to your lunch routine, add more vegetables for the highest mental and physical boost.

A study published by the National Center for Biotechnology Information, concluded that a diet rich in fruits and vegetables is related to greater happiness, life satisfaction, and positivity. It is also related to greater self-reported curiosity and creativity. In a Inc.com interview, Karen Ansel, Registered Dietitian and spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, recommended chickpeas and iced green tea as the most effective energy combination.

"Chickpeas are the ultimate food for brain function because they combine protein to keep you alert, along with complex carbohydrates to fuel your brain. Because the carbs are digested slowly, they give you a sustained energy release that keeps you energized and focused. Adding a little balsamic vinegar is the icing on the cake, because it slows down carbohydrate digestion even more, prolonging that energy release," said Ansel.

Veestro's Golden Chickpea Stew will satisfy your craving for something hearty and warm, while you're conquering the world from your desk. At 370 calories and 16 grams of protein, it will be your newest go-to meal.
