us govt: 'less meat' is better for you and better for the environment. hooray!

A draft of the U.S. government's dietary guidelines for 2015 (they update them every five years) recommends the consumption of more plant-based foods and less animal-based ones, because such foods are "associated with lesser environmental impact than is the current average U.S. diet." Finally, the government wonks are getting with it! Actually, this is part of a longer trend by the Department of Agriculture to call for reduced consumption of meat. And here at Veestro we couldn't be happier! Not just because it's good for business (we deliver 100% plant-based meals nationwide, after all) but because we know it's the right thing for our bodies and the right thing for our environment.
