on diabetes and diet

According to this article on the website for Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (a wholesome sounding name if ever there was one) controlling your diet is key to controlling your diabetes. In fact, according to PCRM, "Clinical research studies have shown that adopting a low-fat, plant-derived diet does indeed improve insulin sensitivity, help with weight loss, and reduce blood sugar and cholesterol." No big surprise, of course. But what is surprising, at least to some, is that a plant-based diet -- especially one low in oils -- is so much better than a more traditional 'Western' diet. So what are you waiting for? Start eating smart!
